Case study — Café Les Cousines signage
How great signs help your business
Before & After
Type of sign:
Exterior commercial signs (two in total): monument sign and façade sign.
Materials & techniques used:
3D lettering, breakout (or pop-out) sign elements, sculpted wood, gold leaf.
Problem
The challenge presented to us by Café Les Cousines was two-fold; first communicate a new market positioning, second stand out on a busy street.
- Café Les Cousines wanted to change its market perception from simply another ice cream parlour, to a coffee shop and dairy bar
- Situated on a busy road, with plenty of visual distractions, the second element of the brief was to make Café Les Cousines a recognisable landmark on the road
Solution
Our solution to their brief was to recommend two exterior signs, both a façade sign (affixed to the building) and a monument sign (free-standing sign). We perceived that in fact the biggest difficulty Café Les Cousines was facing was that their building appeared from the street to be a residential property.
Installing two signs, in addition to further secondary signage on the outside of the building, made the building visibly commercial, whilst remaining aesthetically pleasing.
Results
"We're really pleased with the new signs - they've made a major difference to our visibility on the road, and we've received more compliments on the signs than I can count!"
Karl Saynor, Café Les Cousines Owner
